I don't remember how this started, but I had met some guy and was about to embark on an affair with him. He had just gotten off a bus from a long trip and was carrying a backpack when I ran into him (it wasn't clear whether this was a planned rendezvous, a coincidence, or something planned by me to look accidental). We went into the house where he was staying, which was a big, run-down building, sort of a squat, although of the less squalid sort.
We started Making Out in a PG-13 sort of way, and then he stopped and said, "I'm going to go find the Dial" (as in Dial soap, which neither I nor anyone I know uses--apparently my subconscious is selling product placements now). He didn't seem particularly dirty, but according to the story line he had just gotten back from a long trip, so I guess he felt like he needed some Deodorant Soap. I felt simultaneously annoyed at the interruption and flattered that he thought I merited an odor-free paramour.
While he was gone I came to my senses and realized that I couldn't have an affair with him because I was married and loved my husband and didn't want to jeopardize that, hurt him, etc. etc. So when the guy came back I started laying out all my arguments and reasons why we should refrain from any sort of non-platonic contact (I think there may have even been bullet points). I think he was a little frustrated, because he started trying to demonstrate that my husband wasn't really that good a guy because he had participated, with several acquaintances, in the butchering of a wild hog that had been accidentally killed while they were on some male-bonding adventure.

sleep love (lust)
had a dream last night that i was visiting a warehouse for some kind of work-related purpose. there were a bunch of guys who worked in the warehouse and one of them was this guy from csi:
let's just say we took a strong liking to one another. in my dream, i knew he wasn't my type and so he was more of a guilty pleasure. he was very good at all sorts of things that i won't mention here. but i will mention that, on top of everything else, he was a very skilled cuddler.
thank you, detective nick stokes.
it was fun.

making out! arrows! squirrels!
I think I'm stressed about having to sell a car, because I had yet another straying-husband dream last night. I hadn't had any of these for ages, but now this is the second one recently. There wasn't a lot of detail, but apparently he had "made out" (really, those were his words) with some girl "for an hour", and she had then written her phone number (sloppily! bad handwriting!), once on the side of his stomach, with an arrow pointing down in the general direction of his privates, and once on the side of his neck with an arrow pointing toward his ear.
There weren't a lot of other details, but somehow I had to confront the girl in a dingy room with my parents and a bunch of frat boys. The frat boys were laughing at me while guzzling beers; the girl started crying (and consequently made me feel guilty) and saying she didn't know he was married; and my mother told my husband to kiss this other girl (I was shocked and then she said, very dramatically, "You are kissing her goodbye!").
Of course this gets me a little bit of sympathy from him when I recount them, but these are getting old! I'm tired of waking up grumpy.
On a more positive (surreal?) note, my mother told me she had a dream about my grandmother turning into a squirrel.
