Mascara

I was supposed to go somewhere--breakfast, I think--with a cute boy, but I wasn't quite ready, so we came back to my place so that I could freshen up. I was just going to put on some mascara, but for some reason it ended up taking me forever. I felt awful, because not only was I making us late, I has lost my sort of fresh-faced charm, both by appearing to be super high-maintenance by spending so long on my makeup, and for actually putting on too much. I knew I had disappointed him and felt like a total failure.

Unrelatedly, in the dream I had straight, dark brown hair that reached to my shoulders, and longish bangs. In real life, my hair is much shorter, curlier, and multicolored.

Multi-colored hair? I love it!

I've had similar dreams before, where I'm trying to do something and it seems to take me forever when it would normally only take a minute or two.

oh, i hate those dreams where you're faced with cosmetic problems. mine usually include spending way too long trying to fix them.

True story on the multicolored hair; it's mostly brown (lighter and redder in summer), but with one coppery patch and a few blonde chunks.

And the running-late dreams are definitely my most common anxiety dreams. Urgh.

ceri, i think i had a dream the other night that was influenced by this one. i was supposed to be getting a couple of models ready for a photo shoot (??) and accidentally overapplied the powder, turning them from fresh-faced to yucky.
