I just visited my mom and dad up north. I hadn't been in the house since I was a kid and everything seemed so much smaller now. My mom laughed and said that it happens to all of us when we go back.
As I look around, I go into my parents room and it is completely empty. I see the marks on the walls made by the pillows rubbing up against them but seemed really concerned with measuring how big the room was - seven normal paces across. I walk back into the livingroom and my dad is in his chair watching TV and my mom is making a costume at the sewing machine. I ask, "Did you know your bedroom is empty?"
Before they could answer, my alarm wakes me up. I turn off the "barking dogs," and get ready for work.
